ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
This position is located at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Fort Leonard Wood, MO United States 1 vacancy
Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D0478000 in SPMD 4622
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is an Indefinite Excepted Service position. Employment can be terminated with a 30 day notice. This position is authorized to be filled as long as services are required and funds are available. This is a bargaining unit position.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: This is an Excepted position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Missouri Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.
Maximum Military Grade - SFC (E-7)
Enlisted - CMF 91 or 92
Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.
Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the indefinite appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status. Under an indefinite appointment, the employment is subject to a 30 day termination notice.

Receives, stores, and issues aviation gasoline and jet fuel for the facility. Orders fuel under a pre-negotiated government contract with a commercial vendor who provides delivery to the site. Receives fuel and assists in off loading into underground storage facilities. Handles all necessary grounding lines and hoses, monitors gauges, and ensures that proper procedures and safety practices are strictly observed. Ensures proper quantities are received and signs for deliveries. Transfers fuel from storage areas to tanker trucks with a fuel capacity of 2500 to 5000 gallons which are utilized to refuel aircraft. Operates necessary transfer and pumping equipment including valves, pumps, safety lines and hoses; monitors gauges and ensures that safety practices and regulations are strictly observed and enforced. Determines existence of water in storage tanks and drains it. Conducts aqua-glo and milipor tests at required intervals to determine existence of water and sediment in the fuel. Refuels and defuels assigned and transient aircraft, both rotary and fixed wing. Operates tactical and/or commercial type fuel trucks on the aircraft ramp parking area. Connects grounding cables, operates the pump unit, and handles hoses. Dispenses fuel and enters fuel amount in fuel records and log books as required. May assist authorized firefighters in the performance of fire and crash/reserve duties. May assist Aircraft Mechanics by performing Aircraft Mechanic Helper duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:_ Must have 9 months of specialized experience, education or training which demonstrates your experience and ability to receive, store, transfer, issue, and dispose of aviation and ground fuels in a safe and efficient manner. Must have the ability to keep records, and to obtain petroleum test samples from all types of storage tanks, pipelines and containers.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
